INSTRUCTIONS FOR AUTHORS OF ACCEPTED PAPERS
Camera ready upload instructions for EDAS can be found
here.
In order for your paper to be in the conference proceedings and IEEE Xplore you need to complete these five steps:
1. Revise your Paper
2. Check your paper with IEEE PDF eXpress
3. Register for the conference with payment
4. Submit your copyright transfer
5. Upload the Final Version of your paper in EDAS
1. Revise your Paper
Please read the reviews of your paper and follow the reviewers'
recommendations for revising it and preparing the final version.
When you are done with the revision, please print out your paper
and carefully proof read it. The final manuscript must NOT contain page numbers.
Review formatting requirements can be found here.
Your final manuscript should have no page numbers and no headers/footers.
Use a non-zero PDF top and bottom margins (typically, at least 0.5 inches)
to help indicate if there are any page numbers.
2. Check your paper with IEEE PDF eXpress
IEEE PDF eXpress
has been made available (http://www.pdf-express.org)
for checking the IEEE Xplore compatibility of PDF files and provide
assistance to authors to correct problems with their files.
The conference ID for IEEE PDF eXpress is "secon11xp".
IEEE is very strict about the requirements for converting application files or PostScript
files to full-text PDF for inclusion in IEEE Xplore. The new IEEE Xplore Requirements for
PDF will be enforced. All conference articles submitted for inclusion in IEEE Xplore must be
in Xplore-compatible PDF format.
According to the new IEEE Xplore Requirements for PDF, all conference articles submitted for inclusion
in IEEE Xplore must adhere to the IEEE Xplore PDF specification for compatibility.
IEEE PDF eXpress is a free service to IEEE conferences, allowing their authors to make IEEE Xplore-compatible
PDFs (Conversion function) or to check PDFs that authors have made themselves for IEEE Xplore
compatibility (PDF Check function).
It is important to note that submitting a file to IEEE PDF eXpress is only for creation of a compliant PDF
file, you must still submit your final paper through EDAS.
Instructions for IEEE PDF eXpress for IEEE SECON 2011 can be found here.
IEEE PDF eXpress converts the following file types to PDF: Rich Text Format
Freelance
(La)TeX (DVI and
all support files required)
PageMaker
FrameMaker
QuarkXpress
Word Pro
Microsoft Word
WordPerfect
For documents created in formats that do not embed source files, include all support files with the final
manuscript in a folder. Put this folder in a compressed archive for submission. If it is possible to embed images
in the source document, you should do so to avoid potential issues, such as missing graphics.
IMPORTANT: A DVI (DeVice Independent file) is required for LaTeX conversions, in
addition to all associated image files. Make sure that your LaTeX system can output a DVI, otherwise it
cannot be converted. Be sure also to check that your images are properly referenced, and that DVI can
handle the image file types used (DVI does not handle some newer image types, such as *.png).
3. Register for the conference
You MUST register for the conference with payment before
you can upload your paper. You will need your Registration
Code (confirmation). If you are submitting your registration
by Fax please allow at least 3 business days for your registration
to be processed before you will receive your code by e-mail.
